Happy Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun this year. Cooper is at an age where I think he "gets it" more than any other year anyway. He enjoyed everything about the pumpkins and on Halloween evening he LOVED getting dressed up as a tiger. He even acted like a "scary scary tiger" at some points during the evening. This year we went to a couple of our neighbors homes to Trick or Treat and then we drove over to Cooper's school where they were having a Truck N Treat that the church was putting on. Usually during Halloween the church puts on a Harvet Festival but this year they decided on the Trunk N Treat. I loved the idea! I remember as a kid going to the Trunk N Treat at my church - so I was excited to take Cooper. It ended up being SO perfect! It was great because we didn't have to walk from house to house - instead it was car to car - shorter distance for our little tiger. It was also wonderful to see so many people there that maybe did not know Chad or I but they all knew Cooper! I loved seeing his eyes light up when he would see one of the teachers from his school or a friend from his class. It's always different to see the people from school - outsideside of school. Such a wonderful Halloween evening!
All ready to go - checking out his whiskers in the mirror

Having puffs as a snack before going to get lots of candy...those probably aren't any healthier...oh well I guess

Nice Tiger

The Scariest Tiger you've ever seen!!!

Papa came over to say hello to his tiger before we went out for the evening

We stopped to Trick or Treat at the Estrella's on our way to the school - they decorate their house for every holiday - I thought this was a great background for a family Halloween picture

All of the cars/trunks were decorated with so much creativity! It was really cool to see the different ideas everybody had.

Hugs for Ms. Sylvia

An Aquarium...love it!

Even Santa showed up for Halloween! Coop LOVES Santa!

Funny to have this picture with his Halloween costume...but such a good idea for the theme of your trunk - an igloo, the North Pole and SANTA!

Of course, Cooper found the doggie! He LOVES doggies! Maybe someday I'll get the courage to have one in our house...just not yet!

Painting and Carving our Pumpkins

I thought it would be fun for Cooper to paint his pumpkin rather than carve it this year. He would have all the control he wanted instead of begging me or Chad for the knife to cut! My idea worked out great...he absolutely loved painting his pumpkin and wanted to make sure it looked just right (in his eyes). We set up our paint shop in the backyard and Coop and I painted away.
We saved the BIG pumpkin for Chad to carve with Cooper later. So really, we got the best of both worlds!
Just the beginning of a special painted pumpkin

The two of us painting together

Getting it just right!

Done with the pumpkin - time to paint the paper!

It was getting a little chilly outside - this is his cold face - plus a little body shake to go with!

Carving time!

Uh oh, Daddy!

Digging for the seeds and the goo!

Doing some major organizing with the seeds - this bowl - no this bowl...and so on!

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin Patch this past weekend and Cooper had a blast. I think he had more fun with the blow up slide and all the baby animals than the pumpkins but a great time indeed.
The two of us as we arrived

Climbing up

Sliding Down

Walking with Daddy to see what else they could find

Little piggies in there!

The rope swing

Finally found the perfect "punkin"

Trying to get the perfect grip so he doesn't drop it

Goodbye Pumpkin Patch!

Oktoberfest in Campbell

We usually try to head out to Oktoberfest each year in Campbell. This year we only went for like 45 minutes...it was WAY WAY WAY too crowded. Especially with a little boy who likes to walk all by himself - which I think is a positive thing - but in a packed crowd full of people makes me a bit nervous. We got to hang out in the kid area for a bit and let Cooper enjoy some of the blow up toys. We walked around the arts and crafts - Cooper got a new toy - a bubble machine...loves it of course! Since we were planning on eating at the festival, instead we decided to go over to Santana Row and get a burger at The Counter. Yummy! Turned out to be a fun afternoon for us all.
I still have a hard time understanding that we have a child that can go in tunnels and climb up to go down slides all by himself! Here he is...Mr. Independent!

Legally Blond the Musical

A few months ago I was reading some great reviews on Legally Blond the Musical. I love musicals but never really have the chance to go. This time, instead of waiting, I called my mom and asked if she would want to go, she said "yes", so then we of course invited sister! We also ended up going with my mom's wonderful friend Lora from work! It turned out to be such a wonderful day! We went to PF Changs for lunch in Sacramento and then to the matinee show! A fun girls day with a wonderful musical to keep us thoroughly entertained! I'm so glad we went!
