Football season ended in the middle of November (I'm quite behind on our blogging!). My girls did great and I was especially proud of their homecoming routine. We had a couple major injuries but the squad worked together to overcome them and perform a great routine. I always wonder how my choreography will turn out - and I was pretty proud of myself this time - though, it definitely helped that the girls made it look good by sticking all their stunts and being sharp throughout the entire routine! Take a look
Cooper enjoyed the football games this year. Last year we were able to hold him the whole time - but not this year! He loved watching the game, climbing the fence, running around and meeting other people in the stands - Coop is one friendly little guy. Whenever the cheerleaders cheered or the crowd yelled you would hear Cooper say, "YAYYYYY!" and clap his hands!
Not only am I involved with football because of coaching Cheer - but Mark, Chad's dad, referees High School Football! Last year it was awesome because he was able to ref one of the Prospect games...this year he reffed games every Friday and Saturday. When I was talking to him about reffing he was thrilled to have had the opportunity to ref a playoff game this year...he said 10 years ago he would have never thought he would get that opprotunity. So cool for him!!! Another thing Mark said about reffing this year was that he misses his biggest fan - Dawn. She loved going to the games once in awhile to see her "player" on the field. One story that Mark shared with me was that one time Dawn was in the stands - of course, chatting it up with some of the other fans sitting around her. Dawn was asking one mom who her child was on the field...of course, then it was time for that lady to ask Dawn who her child was. Dawn beat around the bush for quite some time with the lady and then finally said, "well he is the one down there, in the striped shirt and white hat!" The lady and others around her thought Dawn was quite funny! I thought that was a cute story because as Mark said, just another way Dawn was able to get a huge smile from people by pulling their leg.
Mark also refs Soccer and has just started reffing basketball. We LOVE hearing all his great stories from that angle of the field... Here are a couple pictures of the ref himself!
