Last Wednesday, Cooper and I started a Mommy and Me Soccer class - Bug Ball Soccer - for kids 18 -30 months. Oh my goodness, I never would have guessed how much fun Cooper would have. Though, I guess I should have - this little boy is OBSESSED with all balls - basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, bouncy balls - you name it, he loves it! The class is at an indoor soccer complex called Off the Wall in Santa Clara and is once a week for 8 weeks. This week I took lots of pictures and even a couple videos for Chad, since he is at work during the time of the class...I thought I could share them for anyone else who is interested.
This picture is so cute because Cooper is listening so well to his coach explain what they will do in class today.
They begin by stretching - raising their arms to the sky and then touching their toes. Cooper has that part down great!
He is so proud he can touch his toes!
Then they do an obstacle course - balance blocks, a tunnel, jumping through hoops and kicking a goal at the end. Afterwards each kid gets their own ball to kick to color corners, then run through the ladder and kick to score in the big goal.
(ignore my voice overs)
kick, kick, kick...
He loves running through the ladder - and just like anything else, when the ladder get's messed up he get's really concerned and says
"ohhhh nooo!"
They end the class by playing red light, green light and playing with the parachute.
Getting a ride on the parachute.
"Up"..."Down"...
Stacking cones...so much fun!
I would say it's mostly done by the instructors and parents are there just because toddlers could easily be uninterested and run off - we're there to help with that. Coop seems to love it! Today he learned how to "trap" the soccer ball with his foot and for fun, his ear and tummy!
Foot trap.
Tummy trap...kinda :)
Huddle at the end to say "BUG BALL!"
I can't believe he is old enough to attend a real class like this. I'm so happy I can be part of it! Great job Coop!
So proud of my little Bug Baller!
